Europass CV or another CV template?

A Europass CV is necessary if you are interested in applying for a job abroad, respectively in Europe. At the same time, if you are interested in a job at public institutions for projects with European funding, or you are an expert involved in tenders, within these projects, a Europass CV is necessary. For when you are expressly asked for such a resume, it is good to have one already prepared.

What other resume template can be useful to you

Apart from the situations listed above, when a Europass CV is required, recruiters, and even candidates, prefer a CV template that is easier to navigate, structured in a more attractive and relevant way. For recruiters in a recruitment agency who may need to edit the information to develop a candidate profile to present to clients, a Europass CV template might prove to be a bit more time-consuming than editing another template.

  • Contact details: Start with your contact information, including your full name, phone number, email address, and LinkedIn profile, if relevant.

  • Work experience: List your work experience in reverse chronological order, starting with the most recent. Include the name of the company, the length of time you worked there, and describe your relevant responsibilities and accomplishments.
  • Education and training: Mention the educational institutions you attended, as well as the diploma or qualifications obtained. If you have participated in relevant training courses or seminars, add this information as well.
  • Skills and other relevant information: Emphasize your key skills that are relevant to the position you’re applying for. Here I can also indicate whether or not you have a driver’s license and category, what foreign languages you know, what computer programs you use, and so on.

  • References: At the end of your resume, you can mention that references are available upon request.

Public institutions, within projects with European funding, require in addition to a Europass CV, a letter of intent. It must reveal your motivation for the position, your skills and competences, to show the benefits of the potential employer to work with you.
